.... reached an important milestone today as we started on re-construction after the weeks of demolition and extraction. It may not look much, but the three new ends on the beams represent the fruit of some considerable time and effort ! We are hoping to collect some much larger new sections for the framework tomorrow, and to get them fitted in place before I have t leave for a tour of work in Singapore at the week end.
Our neighbours are coming for apéros this evening so my next task is to prepare some suitable eats to go with them.
We planted some early potatoes and some parsnips in the potager this morning. Perhaps a little earlier than ideal, but my enforced absence at critical planting times means that there is no other choice. Some early peas, under cover, also went in, so we'll see how they manage. The nights have been quite cold throughout February this year, so perhaps it's time for some milder weather to help things along.
