... at this stage in the year are both unwelcome and very damaging to the garden.
The newly-planted vines are unlikely to survive, whilst the more mature ones (above) will hopefully recover - but there will be no fruit this year.
The kiwi plants are also damaged and the pomegranate tree is now covered with dead young leaves. The mulberry tree, likewise.
The courgettes, pumpkins etc. are easily replanted, but the trees and vines represent a significant loss after the spring began so well.
