... duly arrived yesterday, and it was really a very pleasant day indeed, reaching 21c in the afternoon - a great temperature for the second half of November.
We were able to get on with jobs in the garden at last, and it was time to move the orange and lemon trees into their winter quarters in the conservatory. Later, as the weather gets colder we will add further protection to keep the cold at bay.
We treated ourselves to dinner out with friends last night, going to my favourite restaurant in these parts, called the Charlemagne. As always, the food was excellent, and in something of a departure from my usual choice, I went for a duck main course this time.
There is some cloud this morning, but sunshine is forecast for later, and indeed for the next few days, so that will help us get on top of things before I have to leave for work in London on Saturday.
