... continues and although there has been some relief from the intense heat over the last couple of days, the land is parched and our water supplies are declining. There's no sign of rain in the forecast, either.
The public holiday to mark Bastille Day is the 14th July, but since the populations are spread widely in the countryside, different villages hold their celebrations on other days around the official holiday in order to maximize the number able to attend. Ours was held last night and we went down towards the end to watch the fireworks.
