..... performed a concert of English music from the late Renaissance period in the priory church at Marcillac-Laneville last night. The large church was a fine setting for the music of Byrd, Gibbons, Philips and Deering, and there was a very large audience which more or less filled the both the nave and the transepts.
The performance was of a very high standard, with blemishes being few and inconsequential. The precision and reliability of the intonation was the most convincing aspect of their interpretations. It was a treat to hear music of this quality here in deepest rural France!
Have you sampled any of the live recordings of choral music featured on the Moments Musicaux page of the website?
Or there's a Christmas Carol selection available here.
