... and we awake to yet another frost. I can't believe the weather this spring ! There is a lot of damage in the garden, and I fear there will be little fruit at all this year. Even the vines are suffering, although they will hopefully re-grow. There will likely be another frost tonight, but that will be last, as the wind will finally turn to the south and more normal temperature will ensue.
The wrens are nesting in one of our nest boxes again this year (right), although they opted for a different one from last year.
Fortunately, the frosts have not penetrated our poly-tunnel and the plants inside are doing quite well. The first of this year's strawberries is about ready for picking and the pak choi is also nearly big enough to start harvesting. The cucumbers, aubergines etc. have been held back by the cold temperatures, but hopefully they will start to make some real progress with the arrival of warmer weather this coming week.
