.... completed of my current tour in Hong Kong, but still three more to do !

A chance to give the brain a rest at the week end is a real necessity in this job.

So far the weather has been good this year, with the few showers of rain that we have had failing over night.  The forecast is a little less settled fort he week ahead, though, so that may all be about to change.

As Europe slips inexorably into autumn it remains warm, even hot, here with temperatures reaching the high 20s daily.

.... since I finally found a few spare moments  to build a new antenna last week.  My previous antenna had been up more than 10 years when it finally broke a few months back.  I ordered wire for the re-build straight away, but somehow the job never got to the top of the list until now !
For the re-build I've modified my design to include a balun at the feed point.  The two dipoles are set at right angles (approx!) to each other and fed on the same coaxial feeder, now via the balun.  On a quick test it seems to load up really well, but I've not had a chance to do some proper tests as yet.
Wood Pigeon chick
Whilst climbing the trees to put up the new antenna, we were surprised to discover a wood pigeons' nest with a well developed chick.  It seemed a very unusual time of year for them to be nesting, but the youngster is clearly doing fine as today's picture shows.  The second egg clearly didn't hatch.

Have you sampled any of the live recordings of choral music featured on the Moments Musicaux page of the website?
Or there's a Christmas Carol selection available here.

Work sometimes takes me to far-flung places, but it's nowhere near as exotic as it may seem, I can assure you.
