... so far, making it feel much less like summer than we've come to expect, but the garden has benefited if nothing else.
With the days shortening noticeably of late, my mind has begun to turn towards the changing season and the necessary preparations for winter have already begun. The woodshed is filling up nicely, but there's still more to do if we are to have enough for the whole winter. We don't usually need the fire until late October, but once lit, it will stay in use constantly until the end of March.
