.... is gradually taking shape. There's still some more to do yet, and I need to source some suitable work surfaces and storage, but the heavy stuff is sorted now and all seems to be working after the move, which is a relief.
The very hot weather is in the process of breaking down as I type - it's clouded over and there are rumbles of thunder in the distance. The forecast storms are clearly on their way ....
.... and amongst other jobs, I cleaned and repainted, where necessary, the two big print finishing machines - guillotine and stitcher - ready for moving to their new home in the workshop we have built recently. We've a print job to deliver this morning, then a friend will come over this afternoon to help move them into position - they are not light!
It's forecast to be very hot again today, which is not ideal for heavy lifting jobs, but fortunately they don't have far to go.
.... and a chance to meet up with our friend Paul for lunch on the South Bank. It was quite a cool day, with some strong breezes at times, but it was pleasant enough to sit outside on the terrace for our lunch, so we can't complain.
A fully booked week lies ahead, but I'm already looking forward to being able to head for Portsmouth and the ferry home!
.... for two weeks is not what I would really choose at this time of the year, but the extra income will certainly be welcome as we look to replacing our wooden sun deck next spring. That's going to be a big project, and an expensive one!
The weather here in London has been fairly good, although there was rain yesterday afternoon, and the temperature in my place of work (a church) is not entirely comfortable when there's no sunshine outside. Anyway, it's two days down already .... but 9 left to go! Hopefully it will pass quite quickly and we can get back to the next stage of the shed / workshop project which has had to be left on hold. Some storm rain is forecast back at home, so that will test out the guttering we installed before leaving. Friends are in residence so they will keep me posted.
Have you sampled any of the live recordings of choral music featured on the Moments Musicaux page of the website?
Or there's a Christmas Carol selection available here.
Michel - just an ordinary guy, I guess. A musician by trade and into 'techy' things as 'relaxation'. Originally from the UK, but resident in France for 13 years.
