... with some lovely sunny days. The cold air seems to have gone, at least for the time being, and it's been 15-16°c in the afternoons which has felt very pleasant indeed.
Stormy weather in the late autumn destroyed the cover of our poly-tunnel and its replacement had been waiting in the shed for a suitable day for installation. With no urgent work in the print shop we decided to get on with it this afternoon. Within minutes of installation, the temperature inside had risen to 35°c !
With that job completed, we tackled some pruning on a large tree in the garden. That done, we were both exhausted from moving large pieces of sawn tree up to the wood pile and quantities of small twiggy branches to the bonfire.
... has hit us over the last few days, with night time temperatures dropping to -5°C and daytime temperatures struggling to get above freezing despite the wall-to-wall sunshine. It's unusual for it to be this cold here, but the new stove is proving its worth, keeping the house comfortably warm - something we struggled to do with the previous installation.
We managed a session doing winter pruning and further leaf clearing before the cold snap arrived, but further outside jobs are on hold for a few days until it warms up a bit !
